It’s Not The 1930s (Ode To Titty) Poetry

It’s Not The 1930s (Ode To Titty)¬†

It’s not the 1930s any more, ¬†my friends,

Those were days of innocence

And innocence,  it ends.

Faithful to the novel,  promises they gave

But Titty’s dead and buried

In an unmarked grave.

It’s not the 1930s any more, ¬†my dears,

Those gay old peccadilloes

Cause nostalgic tears.

Uncle Jim was large and stout, ¬†he’d travelled half the earth,

Not even half the man,  now,

He’s robbed of age and girth.¬†

It’s not the 1930s any more, old chum,¬†

If Ransome were alive,

He’d have reason to be glum.¬†

The BBC have chopped and hacked, ¬†they’re Duffers last and first,¬†

Political correctness

Is madness of the worst.

It’s not the 1930s any more, ¬†my friends

Those were days of innocence,

And innocence,  it ends.

About Marie

An eccentric & quirky artist and writer who fills her time between fantasy roleplaying sessions with painting, writing and playing her guitar (rather badly). Usually to be found with paint-stained fingers surrounded by books and tubes of acrylic paint.
